Cash for the smaller venues, cards for the bigger ones. Watch your drinks at busy spots, standard small-island sense. Pace yourself with buckets, they are stronger than they look. Walk back in groups late at night.

Songthaews (pickup taxis) run later than you expect, around 100 to 200 THB per ride within the island. Scooter back is risky after drinks, do not. Sleep deprivation plus diving the next morning is the real island hangover, factor it in.
